Dear clients and friends,
As we prepare to say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024!
I wanted to share with you a little story to say the biggest THANK YOU I can for all of your support over the last 11 years; to fill you in on my current new endeavours; and to say a proper goodbye to some services we’ll be putting to rest.
Firstly, the thank you:
Barberetta Hair was born over 11 years ago, because of YOU! Since then, it has grown and changed in so many ways: from one station to six, to a new location, to a leap of faith to go mobile and, finally, the COVID Coif Project. It become one of the most adaptable hair experiences out there and the transformation was such an awesome experience to be a part of.
I had the pleasure of speaking about our pivot and our awesome team on radio shows, in magazine interviews, and on Global News.
Barberetta Hair’s COVID Coif Project made having those feel-good hair moments possible during some of the hardest times. It was a beautiful, magical thing, one for which I am so proud and so grateful.
Most important to me though, was every moment I spent with each one of you in my chair over the years - those moments of connection with you brought unimaginable joy to my life. Someone very important to me once said that I should have called my business tHAIRapy because that’s really what every conversation felt like for me (and I’m sure it did for some of you).
So thank you, thank you, thank you.
This brings me to the second part of my story…
In 2021 some major life changes occurred for me which weren’t as pleasant (as some of you know) - they were extremely difficult experiences, and I worked hard at finding a way positive way through. I embarked on a journey of personal growth and healing which included a return to school for Addictions and Mental Health.
I am pleased to share that it was the right path for me and I am now spending most of my spare time working in the community as a Peer Support Specialist, and I now offer this practice privately as well.
As a Peer Support Specialist, I utilize my “lived experience” and my education to connect with individuals experiencing difficulty, who are in need of safe connection and understanding. We discover together, their best pathways to healing and I help provide them with the right resources they need to get there.
To me, this feels so close to what I’ve been doing all along, and I am so grateful for all of you for making this journey possible.

LASTLY, I share with extreme gratitude for the last 11 years of service, and also with great sadness: Barberetta Hair’s in-person hair services will be coming to an end as of Jan 31, 2024.
Here are the details:
- We will continue to offer at-home custom colour kits so you will still be able to maintain your beautiful custom hair colour at home.
- We will be selling off our hair care products at discount for a limited time (root sprays, shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling products). Hurry to purchase before they’re all gone!
- If you have any packaged haircuts outstanding, please contact us in response to this email and we will make every effort to accommodate your appointment before our service end date. ***If this is not possible, we can issue one of the following: a colour kit; hair product credit; or we can transfer your balance to mental health services for you or a loved one, or we can donate it to someone in need.
